Alhaurin el Grande is at the foot of the Sierra de Mijas and overlooks the valley "Guadalhorce".
The town has about 20,000 inhabitants. The city center is only 6-minute drive away. By foot it is within 30 minutes.
Alhaurin el Grande is not yet overrun by tourists and is a cozy and yet quite authentic village, where everything is within reach. Bakery's with delicious pastries, number of supermarkets, but also a butcher's shop, fresh fish and vegetable shops, with the local market on Thursday. There is a library and beautiful churches like Santa Vera Cruz and San Sebastian.
Alhaurin's population lives outside the house. This is what you see in the squares where the local people come together and spend the day. The many bars where the locals take their breakfast or drink a cup of coffee. And then there is a variety of restaurants and terraces where you can enjoy ice cream, drinks and delicious food. There is also an emergency room and multilingual docters in the village. There are also several traditional religious festivals in this place that are worth visiting.
The area of Malaga has the most hours of sunshine in Europe, which means that during winter it is still possible to wear a shirt and shorts.
